Home Ministries Outreach
Evangel has committed to caring for the Pool's Cove Assembly.
Pastor & Mrs. Allan Stanley pastor the assembly. They moved to Pool's Cove in January of 2008. We were privileged to have them attend our Annual Missions Convention held on November 22-23, 2008 with the theme "Let Freedom Ring...Til The Whole World Knows."
Foreign Ministries Outreach
In 2002 our congregation accepted the challenge of:
-
Financially supporting the building of Noah’s Ark Orphanage, Banaue, Philippines under the leadership of Linda Veldhuizen, and the construction supervision of Clarence (Jr.) and Ivy Andrews. By January 2003, the first Missions Task Force to go out from Evangel was formed, and the 15 member Team found themselves in Banaue by the month of March, using their carpentry and labour skills to help complete the interior of the new building, while participating in Childrens’ and Teens’ ministry in the evenings.
-
In October 2004 a second Task Force set out for Lilongwe, Malawi, Africa as another construction/ministry Team for the Village of Hope orphanage complex, which is a 10-12 year project, still under construction. At that same time, Evangel made a second commitment to the VOH to supply the $40,000 cost of an orphanage home to be completed, and was able to meet that financial goal by November 2005.
-
In September 2005, a third Task Force had been formed for an ERDO project, and left for Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to work for a ten day period in the harvesting of the fields for that year. ERDO, Emergency Relief and Development Overseas, is the humanitarian arm of the PAOC.
-
On a personal level, in July 2005 the Paul Bradbury family of 5 left for Senegal, Africa to work in the Dakar Academy. In December 2005 Sherry Peters of Evangel left to travel to Djibouti, Africa to teach English for at least one year.
-
Evangel is continuing its support of a family working in a Restricted Access Nation. For their security, we are unable to publish their names here."
-
Since November 2005 the congregation has been involved in the Samaritans Purse organization in sending Christmas shoeboxes overseas to underdeveloped countries.
God is truly working on the hearts of his people for outreach ministries,
and they are responding. To Him be all the glory and the praise!
A "missions minded church"
is a vital, growing church, and one that takes to heart the great
commandment to "go into all the world and
preach the gospel". As we answer that call, so
God will give us greater tasks to complete, and therefore greater rewards to
lay at His feet.
As you read this Outreach report for Evangel Tabernacle, will YOU accept the challenge God is offering? We have accepted His love, His redemption, and the new life He gives. Others need to know.
